Klose Scholarships for Math and Science Education Majors


Where does the Klose scholarship come from?
A gift of nearly $7.5 million from the estate of Doris and Ralph Klose funds scholarships for Wichita State University students preparing to teach science and math. It is the largest known gift in the nation to fund scholarships with this emphasis.

How many scholarships are awarded each fall?

Each fall, approximately 20 students will receive a KLOSE scholarship based on high GPAs and a major in math or science education (either middle or secondary level).

What does the scholarship cover?

The scholarships will cover tuition, fees and books for the recipients’ junior and senior years.

To apply for this scholarship, please use the general COE Scholarship/Fellowship application. Alternatively, all current WSU College of Education Students can access COE scholarships through their Blackboard list of courses. (Blackboard login).
